Dear Readers

Please feel free to email me at anytime (many readers do!).  I say this because you may have noticed that I have removed comments from the blog.  I did not like how impersonal commenting felt to me.  I also like my readers to feel as if this is a one-on-one experience they are having with me and NOT the entire web.

Email (instead of in-the-moment heated comments) provides you with the benefit of knowing that I am not here to argue or judge your feelings.  You can voice yourself right to me and will probably be surprised that my "Libra" ways lend me to being fair; I am hardwired to agree with each individual, for no one person is TOTALLY wrong.  Within every topic there are a million and one ideas, just because yours differs from mine does not mean that we cannot be of some support and help to one another--it happens everyday in people's households.  Go figure!?

Email me if you need me or you feel that I--yes, I--need you.

Mass Media Fast

My mass media fast went really...fast.  It came and went and has left me thinking about all that has transpired in my life (not throughout the world) within in that 2 weeks (and a couple days).  I would have never imagined that things would have gone the way they have.  I am usually so consumed by the word that my own life gets less attention than it should.  It is a reminder that we speak about a world we desire without first being the change that we want to see.  If you are the change, you get a chance to see that desired change each day.  If you are about "talking" about change, you get a chance to see yourself and others talking about change each day.

It's the classic: What you put your attention on, you get more of.

And with this fast all I've gotten is more conscious awareness of my life, in the moment, as it is happening.  Having received this awareness is the thing that is naturally prodding me in a direction of innate change.  I say it is innate because we're humans, we were born to be ever-changing every nanosecond (probably more) of our existence.  I do not claim to be a "studied" scientist, but I am conscious enough to see my eyelashes falling out and my nails growing every day.  That IS the change; I don't need a textbook to understand it.

I hope all is well with my readers.  And if it is not, as it has not been with me, then let us both remember to...

"Be good.
Be patient.
Be in the moment.
Be of understanding that it will change."

Operation Mass Media Boycott, Day 1: Cannot Trust Every Doctor

I thought this video very fitting being that it's about reclaiming one's life; as we reclaim our choices/time/resource. It all goes hand-in-hand, taking back your mental freedom, which affects your physical reality. We are natural consumers who have been manipualted by a media of cannibals. I am not here to preach against garbage consumption--you have free will. I just want you to be able, if you "choose," to see garbage when it's being handed to you on a faux, platinum-plated dinner plate. Just take a closer look at it, marinate on matters and reheat the garbage in the morning (that's what we have radiation for) eating in full pleasure and consciousness.

Me Likes: Empty Heart (Original)

I'm loving this song and video. Give it a look and listen.
Lyrics by cbfall & madstadd13 All Rights Reserved © 2011

Jaded

There is a thick sadness that fills me today.  I tried shaking it.  I tried to nap through it.  But it's still there.  When I try accepting it, I feel a bit better--the cloud that covers me feels more temporary that way.  I am easily agitated...irritated...I try to keep to myself.  Try.  But my life is about always being around people.  Never having a moment to myself; especially when I'm flaring and can't even drive; which means that I don't even get that few minutes alone time in my car while on the way to being poked and prodded by whatever doctor or nurse.  It's been a long time since I've used the following word on my blog...

jaded.

I bring attention to it because there are others out there, right this moment, who are feeling the same way.  And I'd like to say that it does pass.  I never know how long it will stay for, but I know that it always passes.  As I age, I am also learning that even within my jadedness, there are still glimpses of what is other than jaded.  Meaning, it is rare that a person lives in a state of psychotic jadedness.  Even though I feel jaded, I still experience other emotions at the same time--happiness, even.  Trust me, you'd know if you ran into someone with a jaded psychosis going on...it'd feel as if you'd actually met the devil.  They'd have that I empty, I-don't-gives-a-fuhck look in their eyes.  If that approaches you, run!  Those are the folks who are liable to eat your butt-hole for dinner as some type of delicacy (seriously).

So I'm just your run-of-the-mill jaded (sans psychosis).  It'll pass.  And when it does, I'll be happy about it.

"Be good.
Be patient.
Be in the jaded moment--it'll pass."

MissNikkiAnn's Reaction To: "London Riots. (The BBC will never replay this. Send it out)"

Wow!  She just randomly called him out as a rioter!  Demonstrating is NOT equivalent to rioting.  And being at a "demonstration" that TURNS into a riot is not the same as actively seeking and going out to riot.

Wow...I thought our own (America's own) CNN was rubbish, but BBC just put a bad taste in my mouth.  And the bad taste in my mouth has nothing to do with the London Riots, it has to do with garbage journalism and reporting; and this is coming from a woman (ME) who's has worked in the media and pursued a graduate degree in communications and journalism (one semester short of a degree that I stopped pursuing in 2001).  I say that for those naysayers out there who might ASSUME that I have no authority on the matter.

The reporter reminds me of Oprah, always asking questions and never being patient enough to hear the full answer.  That's not what being a journalist (news reporter, interviewer) is about.  Let the interviewee tell the story.  Or if you're the storyteller, pain the picture and try really hard not to color with your emotions.  Journalists in WWI had to deal with a lot of emotional and dangerous pressure, but even they were capable of refraining from forcing their biased opinions on the story and story-makers.  Can you image bombs dropping and trying to maintain your composure and wits?  This journalist is sitting in a cushion-y office, popping off at the mouth.  All she had to do was shut up and listen, he was doing all of the storytelling himself.  People and their egoic need for control and their egoic need for the spotlight have ruined the field of journalism.  Media my azz!

As a journalist, be a slave to the story.  Follow THE STORY.  The story will lead you to greatness.  And a pure journalist is in it for the story, not for fame or fortune.  They want to disseminate TRUTH to the masses.

"Be good.
Be patient.
Be in the moment.
Be open to allowing the story to be told."

Arguing on the Internet - Crime and Punishment by The Amazing Atheist

*Rated R by MissNikkiAnn

This is classic!  He is so spot-on about the human condition.  Spot-on!  And anyone who's had an argument/issue/debate with another Twitter user, can surely relate to this.  And even if you don't agree, it will still resonate and have you bobbing your head with a resounding "yes."

Riots by The Amazing Atheist v. Knowledge of the United Kingdom?

I watched a video called "Riots" by The Amazing Atheist (you gotta press the link to view it: Watch "RIOTS!" on YouTube. ) and KNEW right off the bat that his UK followers were gonna be pissed about his not knowing the difference between the UK, Great Britain and England (and so forth?).  I only know what I know because of a wonderful YouTube video.  And so this is how the story goes...

Oh, and FYI:  The "Riots" video is pretty good (funny more than anything else), and it does show Americans' lack of care for understanding the makeup of the United Kingdom...um...Great Britain...I mean...

5 Things My World Showed Me Today: Novelty

#1 When it boils down to it, The People hate Wall Street.

I saw this Twitter today:

#2 The craziness of the world is "speeding up" just as Terence Mckenna (my favorite researcher, scientist and philosopher) thought it would. Terence died of cancer in the year 2000.

(Terrence comes in at about 3 minutes.  Be patient, there are worse ways of spending 7 minutes of your time.)

#3  London is burning.  Burning with an outrageous need and desire for change.

#4  America is burning.  Burning with an outrageous need and desire for change.

#5  Mother Earth is burning.  And she will burn until she has finished cleansing herself.  So please stop putting out the fires.  The longer you fight her, the longer she will persist at doing her JOB.  It is only natural.

Get a coffee, give a coffee - Jonathan's Card

This is such a genius idea:

FYI:  If you need to know how much is on the card at any given time, go to Johnathan's Card's Twitter page (yes, the card has its own Twitter page): http://twitter.com/#!/jonathanscard.  It also has a Facebook page, but I do not have Facebook (never have) and do not support Facebook in any way.  Thank you.

Let me know if you give it a try!

So I went ahead and created a Twitter List for this, to make it easier:

5 Things My World Showed Me Today

  1. Toys "R" Us is gearing up to hit consumers with a massive, pricey fall and winter holiday season.  Be forewarned.
  2. Toys "R" Us is like the government: They think kids are robots.
  3. Every parent has the same complaint: "He/She got the pillow pet, took a look at, adored it for its cuteness and hasn't bothered with it since Christmas."
  4. The government thinks I haven't noticed the gas prices creeping to $5/gallon again.
  5. People are like hamsters.  That wheel is addictive, huh?

"Be good;
Be patient;
Or just be too drunk to be held accountable."

FYI:  The latter never worked for me, but YOU could be the exception; there's one to every rule, right?  Right!

  1. You may pay Uncle Sam on time, but he pays YOU when (or if) HE feels like it.
  2. Once you've gained your mental freedom, the world will go to great lengths to try to steal it back...yet again.
  3. No one gives a good-whoot-nanny about how they affect the larger picture, taking great risks with the lives of others in all kinds of scenarios.
  4. Well-rounded doctors are hard to find, but doctors come a dime a dozen.
  5. Healthcare patients with patience are hard to find, and one phony can destroy the lives of thousands.  Thousands!

Bedtime Story

Finally sleep knocked at my door. She gave me a sincere warning about the 'morrow. Gently reminding that it's closer than intolerance wants to admit. I lifted my foot and kicked intolerance out the door, leaving intolerable to guard it and sleep to enter immediately. The end.

My Words: Hospital Day

The day is coming to an end. It was a long and miserable one for me. I got really sick yesterday; began fainting while driving from one appointment to the next, so I skipped the second appointment and went home. I was so sick that I had to crawl from the back door from which I'd entered to my bedroom.

Then the sickness continued into today. My poor infusion nurses had to call my doctor to request intravenous Zofran and some Benadryl. Then I took a Tramadol to attemp to ease the pain. I called mom, on the verge of tears and a nervous breakdown, told her that she might have to come back to the hospital to see about me. What she could have done for me? Not a dayum thang.

The only good part about my day was tha AMC is having #MobWeek, so I got to watch the likes of Al Pacino and Robert Deniro, two of my favorite guys.

Now I'm finally home and in the bed. But dontcha know, life doesn't take a vacation, only the final permanent one, and that's more like retirement. Anywho, I got two denials today, which fit perfectly with the denial my mind is in when it thinks it can outsmart Dysautonomia.

Sir and I are calling it a night. Maybe you should, too.

The Wait

I'm at my auto mechanic's shop having my air conditioner charge; so I thought I'd say hello to my blog page: Hello page.

Summers are not my disabilities' friend. I am hospital-ridden every Friday (soon to switch days so I can reconvene another Friday standing appointment) from 6:45 a.m. until 4 p.m. for my infusion session. And let me be clear, without that infusion, I would be 100% bedridden like I was last summer and the one before. So now I am able to be out of the bed for about 25% of the time. Wait a sec... God is so good, I tell you! My writing was just now interrupted by a call from my doctor's office. As much as I appreciate my infusions, it's a pain for me and my doctor's staff trying to schedule them and keep it all in order. His assistant just called to say that she was able to book me for the rest of the year AND into the beginning of 2012. It's an even bigger deal because so many dysautonomia patients don't have access to this treatment, so I try not to moan and groan about how time-consuming it is. If spending one day each week in the hospital results in my having a bit more mobility to care for Sir, then I shall endure until I can endure no more. "Be good. Be patient. My Appreciation Goes Out To Connecticut Top Blogs

Connecticut Top Blogs

I just want to say that it's not "important" that my blog be recognized by anyone.  What is important is that when it happens that I realize what a blessing it is to have your work being enjoyed (or whatever is the case) by others.  It is a natural, human tendency to seek, not acceptance, but basic recognition from one's own "tribe" (family/community).

So I am thankful to be seen and to be heard, and that, considering all the devastation around the the globe, is a blessing and opportunity that I cannot allow myself to take for granted.

Thank you to Connecticut Top Blogs for "seeing" me.
