Videoshoot : Abege "I like it" @ Porto, Portugal. 2007 @kaysha
Kaysha (@kaysha on Twitter) is a longtime Twitter friend. He is passionate and talented beyond my comprehension. Here's some footage he'd taken during a recent video shoot. I love the fact that his fans get to keep up with not only his work but also his creative process through the makings of his very own intimate, self-made videos.

I Am Here
Just thought it only smart to drop-in my own site and see how things are going.
And?
They're going.
The page is still here.
Be well.

Keeping You Up To Speed…
I have a lot going on at once. Since I am finally at the end of a month-long Dysautonomia flare, I am trying to play catch-up. In addition to playing catch-up, with the help of my psychiatrist, whom I adore as a human being, I am trying to implement some activities that will help me work towards my goal of creating cash flow on my own. I have not yet been approved for SSI or Disability, so my income is ineffectively $0.00 per hour, which stings. And sucks.
As I am learning to live and work around my disability, we (my psychiatrist and I) are trying to figure out how I can utilize my talents from my bed, in the lying flat position, in order to make a livable living with or without the aid of SSI/Disability. As I’ve told her, eventually (if I am awarded money from SSI/Disability) I want to be financially independent of those systems sooner than later. Just as a blind person, or deaf or mentally handicapped person can generate income despite their disabilities, I too feel compelled to do the same. So our brainstorming has led to my attempting writing by voice recognition applications that I use while I’m too sick to be upright. It’s a bit daunting, but remember how daunting text messaging used to be before QWERTY pads? Same thing.
This morning I got an email letting me know that I’ve been accepted as the group leader of MDJunction’s Non-Familial Dysautonomia Forum. I feel honored and excited about the endeavor, and am looking forward to advocating for Non-Familial Dysautonomia and chronic illness sufferers in general. I’ve also been using my YouTube vlog as an advocacy tool by making my own videos and connecting with other Dysautonomia/POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, a form of Dysautonomia that I have) patients.
And there’s so much more, but right now I am in so much pain and need to go handle that and Sir at the same time. One thing I will say about Sir is that I am so proud of him. He is crazy as hell, but he’s doing such a great job in kindergarten, and I am thoroughly enjoying watching and listening to him read; which I think has been my favorite part of his kindergarten experience. Yay for reading! I heart books.
Be well.

My Bad
It's tax time. Yup. And that's where I'll end this: It's tax time.
A twitter friend of mine wrote this book. He's unemployed, has kids, a wife and talent that the recession refuses to capitalize on.

Why don't people realise how much democratic and knowledge-promoting potential there is in pearltrees.com ?
Simple answer: They probably don't know that www.pearltrees.com exists, just as I didn't know this until about 5 minutes ago! *blushes* I am now taking a look at the site. Thanks.
Why would you like to learn Greek? Have you heard the sound somewhere? What appeals to you in that language? - I started learning it; it is nice. Refined, differently from French; lisping a bit, but pleasant.
I speak Spanish (studied abroad in Costa Rica) but am now lucky that I am exposed to Greek because Sir's classmate's parents are from Cyprus. I am friends with the classmate's mom and am around her a lot as she converses with her two children in Greek. Her kids attend Greek school every Saturday and Greek Orthodox church every Sunday. I can honestly say that this makes for a very simply reason for my desire to learn the language; not much else behind my reasoning!

Dysautonomia Flare
What does stuff mean? Not much. Just got frustrated with being bedridden and decided to blog about a piece of my life. And if you read about a crazy woman running through the streets, bucking shots in the air...it's only I.

If you were stranded on a desert island, which one person would you bring with you?
Do I have to say my son? If not, my ex-boyfriend Paul. We'd keep each other laughing. So would my son, though.

A Request
Just a note to say that almost all of the products on this page are things that I own or have invested time or money in. Please feel free to click on the links and see what my recommended books and other mentioned items are about. More and more I am liking the idea of exposing you all to the books and things that have inspired me to keep on living, loving and giving. I hope that they inspire you as well. I Tried…
but yesterday didn’t go as planned. I was stricken with pain not long after my video post, so I was unable to make the cookies. But we did get the haircuts. Today I have lots of craziness going on, and the pain has not let up. I’m taking prescription strength pain meds on top of the other medication that is supposed to help control my pain that is triggered by my nervous system.
I’m medicated the fuck up!
Sir has another school Christmas program today (that’s what happens when you send your child to a Christian (not Catholic, CHRISTIAN) private school--they reserve the right to have 5 million programs when it’s a Christian holiday approaching. So I need to go to that, plus two doctor appointments AND it’s a half day--and last day until after the New Year--for Sir (gets out at 12:30 p.m.). So I have no idea how it will all flow. But…
GOD has never failed me nor forsaken me.
Thank God!

Blog Update
This blog is now open to comments again, as it appears that the spammers have stopped harassing me.
Thank you for your patience?
Welcome to Dysautonomia
I’m back to this page again. It’s 6:00 a.m. here in Connecticut. There’s snow outside, so Sir’s school has a 90-minute delay. This delay suits me just fine since my Dysautonomia is kicking my azz this morning; I woke wondering how I was gonna make it through my SIMPLE day, cause it’s not as if my life is all that complicated:
A. Got Sick
B. Went on Medical Leave
C. Insurance Company Hated Paying Me
D. Insurance Company Dropped Me
E. Tried Going Back to My Job
F. Always Got Sick at Job
G. Never Worked More Than an Hour or Two at a Time (skipped WEEKS with no pay)
H. Got “Discharged” from Job Because of Illness
I. Was Denied Unemployment Because “I Am Unavailable for Work”
J. Have Not Seen A REAL Check Since May
K. Am Waiting to Hear from SSI
L. Am Waiting to Hear from Disability
M. Am Waiting for Hell to Freeze over
I. Am. An. Idiot.

Me & My Man
Sir and I are in my room. I think he’s driving me crazy, but I’m not sure just yet. I have lost my mind before. Seriously. Thing was just blown for about 24 hours. Gotta say, that was an awesome 24 hours. Awesome. But my mind is not blown at the moment. But (yes, that’s the third but, which is about the size of my real butt) I am next to a 5-year-old who is throwing a Japanese Yo-Yo across my room while yelling nonsensical things that little boys yell when throwing Japanese Yo-Yos. Then again, this post in itself is pretty nonsensical.
As is life itself.

I am still here?
Aside from the fact that I feel like shyt today, I find myself coming to this page. Not so much out of desire, but more so because I feel some strong attraction that is beckoning for me to be here. Personally, I’d prefer the comforts of not having to perform this daunting task. Daunting because as soon as it starts (the pull, that is!), I never know when it’ll end. Today? Tomorrow? Never? Whenever. And I also prefer to keep to my silent world. I like to. But I also know that when we fight the whisper, life because a fight…a struggle, and that’s not all too enjoyable to me, as it is to some; and I am not against those who enjoy the struggle, for each of us must live the way we see fit.
