Paul by MissNikkiAnn

well at least your with your loved ones which is a blessing from God and so do you like to give advice

I'm just a really good listener and like hearing people's stories. But I do find that people tend to ask me for advice, which I'm okay with.

5 Things My World Showed Me Today

The...

Hell?

  1. People have a sound and solid dislike for the Nestle Company.
  2. Google is soooo pissed at China for invading its Gmail accounts.
  3. The United States and China will not be "true" friends within my lifetime.
  4. The Chinese government still hates its Chinese Christians.
  5. NPR felt the need to do a segment on Spiderman the musical.  And I think that's bat-shit crazy. *shrugs*  But I still like NPR.

PSP Lego Pirates of the Caribbean and SONY Issues

This is the newest PSP game that Sir wants. But right now...right now...I am so pissed off with SONY. **insert explicit words here** I'm not just upset about the techies who jacked SONY, I'm upset that you still can't get on the site to see your account. How friggin' long will it take? And all the while, I see them out and about in techie land promoting new shyt! Screw your new shyt, SONY! Fix the shyt you own that ain't working, gosh-dernit!!!! And you no longer even mention on your blog or on Twitter that users can't access their accounts. It's like you're trying to paint a picture that everything is back to normal, just to keep your stocks steady. What the heck, SONY!? Then you GIVE us free games that our gaming systems can't access because we can't get into your system! And just to think, I was hoping to one day invest in a PS3 for my mom (yeah, my mom!). I don't even trust y'all anymore! NOPE.

I'm still alive???

MissNikkiAnn?

what do you love about a man

When he proves himself to be loving, respectful, giving (and humble enough to receive), smart and hardworking over and over again through the years. Which means you've gotta know him long enough for this to happen. Longevity. In it for the long haul.

Thanks For Nothing, Governor Malloy

So it's official. The legislation was passed and now Connecticut residents have been cut by Amazon from the Amazon Associates Program (a service I use here on my blog--or USED to use). Basically, it involves a sales tax provision that's been instated within the new budget. Here's Amazon's exact wording on th issue:

"It specifically imposes the collection of taxes from consumers on sales by online retailers - including but not limited to those referred by Connecticut-based affiliates like you - even if those retailers have no physical presence in the state."

But that wasn't my favorite part of the email.  Here goes...

"We opposed this new tax law because it is unconstitutional and counterproductive."

Yes, Amazon, ya' gotta call it a duck if it quacks.  And this thing is quacking really loud.  Further more...

"It was supported by big-box retailers, most of which are based outside Connecticut, that seek to harm the affiliate advertising programs of their competitors. Similar legislation in other states has led to job and income losses, and little, if any, new tax revenue."

When I first heard about the possibility of a new tax law, I didn't believe it'd actually get approval and pass.  But just like other crap going on in America lately, it seems that we ought to get used to expecting the unexpected to transpire with great approval and mobility.  And it's a shame.  Welcome to American Democracy.

I think more of you should follow me......you are missing some very good questions by not. xxxxx

This is true.

MissNikkiAnn?

Are you a different person now than you were 5 years ago?

Not really. I just gain more awareness as the years pass, as life keeps unfolding.

MissNikkiAnn?

Do you often forget that there is a person with emotions, on the other end?

I wish I could, it would mean less anxiety for me. I am so concerned about emotions that I often miss out on a lot, just not wanting to be around folks, thinking about how much emotional energy it takes to be with people. I have an illness that affects my nervous system, so my "normal" heart rate runs 100 to 140 all the time (even lying down). My doctors say that this has a lot to do with why I feel so overwhelmed by what would appear to be "easy" social gatherings.

So I try not to be so hard on myself and my judgement of what emotions I "think" I might encounter just by venturing out...let's say...to the grocery store. I'm worried that the cashier might take the way I hand her the money wrong, or that I'll offend a fellow shopper by being in the way. So emotions are an issue. And I wish I could forget sometimes. Just let go.

What is one thing you wish more people knew about you?

How disabling my dysautonomia really is. I wish they could live with it for 5 minutes to see how every little thing in life is a struggle. Everything. Talking, walking, dressing, showering, eating, drinking, digesting, lying down, sleeping, breathing, shopping, reading, listening, seeing, thinking, taking over 15 minute car rides, being a sick mom/daughter/sibling/relative/friend...all a struggle.

But then...it's a struggle for us all. So ultimately, I wish that they knew that because of my illness I know just how much EVERYONE (healthy and sick) struggle just to be alive.

YOU JUST WOKE UP NAKED IN BED NEXT TO ME. Using only 3 words, what would you say to me?

YOU JUST WOKE UP NAKED IN BED NEXT TO ME. Using only 3 words, what would you say to me?

Answer here

The Fox

This morning I went to get out of my car and spotted the most adorable little fox crossing through my backyard. Being the wild animal lover that I am, I made conversation with said fox. "Hey, honey! How's it going!?" The fox stopped, turned its head over its shoulder to look at my foolish azz and then walked off. I was a bit hurt, to say the least.  And then it came to me!  I hadn't seen any of my bunny, chipmunk nor squirrel friends lately. Come to find out, I haven't seen them all season! Then I thought back to that horrible fox and the wonderful gifts that it's stolen from me. My gosh! It's eating my wild animal friends!

Mr./Ms. Fox, if you have plans on eating my friends, please at least be kind enough to stop and chat a bit, as I'll need some type of wild animal friend to replace my old ones.  Thanx.

The nerve of some animals!

Tired Of Being Quiet

I spend my extra energy (yeah, right, my bedridden time) connecting with other chronic illness patients. I try to support and be supported, and together we all try to bring awareness to the fact that millions of people around the globe are struggling with diseases and conditions that they didn't go to the grocery aisle and shop for. I say this to mean that some of us, prior to becoming ill, had lived very healthful lives, trying our damnedest to avoid needing any invasive and intrusive health care, aside from the occasional prick from having yearly routine blood drawn for a yearly physical.

But here we are. Sitting quietly in our homes. Millions of us. Afraid to inconvenience the rest of the world as it goes by in its regular hustle and bustle. Afraid to be labeled whiners or liars for voicing the myriad and overwhelming symptoms that bombard us around-the-clock. Cause, let's face it, most chronic illnesses don't take a break. And they don't give a crap that there's only 24 hours a day and seven days a week--chronic illness will squeeze as much time out of your body as it feels free to do.

So I'm tired of gathering in small groups online. Making YouTube videos for "just us." I had to remind myself, when the shoe was on the other foot, you were willing to nurse your own mother through her breast cancer and have sat next to dying folks' bedsides trying to bring them comfort. At no point would I have expected them to shut themselves up in a room and live out the rest of their days trying not to disturb the "irregularly" regular flow of life.

So, on that note. Please take a look at this video as I expose the often "hidden" lives of people, fellow human beings, as they struggle with chronic illnesses.
